Where to Go for a Weekend Outing... LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam Hosts Unique 'Malma Festival'
Family Festival on June 28: Experiences and Activities with Horses
Horseshoe Toss Competition and Limited Edition Racehorse Merchandise for Sale
The Korea Racing Authority is presenting a festival filled with unique horse-themed experiences and entertainment.
On June 28, the Korea Racing Authority will host the "Ma9Ma9 Malma Festival," an event designed for all generations to enjoy together, at the Derby Plaza in LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam.
This festival is a follow-up to the "Mallemallem Kids Festival" held last April for children, now expanded to include programs that families, couples, and friends of all ages can enjoy together.
In particular, the event highlights LetsRun Park’s unique identity by offering a wide range of hands-on experiences centered around horses.
The highlight of the festival is the "Horseshoe Toss Competition." This unique sports experience uses real horseshoes, and will take place in front of the Derby Plaza fountain from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the day of the festival.
Participants will compete in teams of two, throwing horseshoes as close as possible to a target. The competition consists of preliminary rounds and finals to determine the winning team. As an activity rarely experienced in everyday life, it is expected to draw strong interest from visitors.
A special area for racehorse fans will also be set up.
In front of the Rookie Zone on the first floor of the grandstand, the "Myungmadang Pop-Up Store" will be open. Myungmadang is LetsRun Park’s brand of racehorse merchandise, producing a variety of souvenirs featuring the names and images of actual popular racehorses.
At this pop-up store, a total of six different keyrings will be available for sale, including those featuring Busan-Gyeongnam’s representative racehorses "Global Hit" and "Triple Nine." Only 600 units will be sold in limited quantities. Given that these popular items previously sparked a rush of early shoppers at LetsRun Park Seoul, they are expected to attract significant attention from collectors and horseracing fans alike.
The Korea Racing Authority aims to use this festival to promote a more accessible image of horseracing and the horse industry, while establishing LetsRun Park as a family-friendly cultural venue.
An event official said, "We have prepared this festival to highlight LetsRun Park’s unique features through a variety of horse-related programs, creating a space that all generations can enjoy together. We hope families, couples, and friends will visit and make special weekend memories."
