DeepCure Launches Clinical Trial Combining Robotic Laparoscopic RDN and AI Guide
DeepCure is launching the world's first clinical trial in Korea to validate an artificial intelligence (AI) guide for extravascular renal denervation (Extravascular RDN) using a robotic laparoscopic approach, targeting patients with resistant hypertension.
According to DeepCure on June 25, this clinical trial is part of a strategy to achieve a unique technological differentiation in the global medical device market by applying DeepCure's HyperQure™ RDN system to existing advanced robotic surgery infrastructure and utilizing the HyperQure Navigator, an AI-powered surgical guide program developed by DeepCure.
This investigator-initiated feasibility clinical trial is being conducted based on approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and a research contract with Seoul National University Hospital. The trial is led by Professor Changwook Jung and Professor Janghee Han's team.
In particular, this clinical trial will utilize the HyperQure Navigator, an AI-based medical imaging software that recently received Class I digital medical device manufacturing approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The HyperQure Navigator analyzes patients' renal computed tomography angiography (CTA) images using AI algorithms to quantify renal vascular information and provide it to medical professionals. It was developed to enhance the consistency and safety of extravascular renal denervation procedures.
