Sales Up 35% on Match Days: No Brand Burger’s New Menu Proves Popular
“Avocado Taco” and “Smoke Barbecue” Sell 100,000 Units in Just Two Weeks
Popup Store Draws an Average of 400 Visitors Per Day
Shinsegae Food announced on the 25th that No Brand Burger’s two new menu items, “Avocado Taco” and “Smoke Barbecue,” which were launched on the 12th, have surpassed a cumulative sales volume of 100,000 units just two weeks after release, selling an average of 7,000 units per day.
A company representative explained, “The demand for cheering during football matches coincided with the effect of the Seongsu-dong popup store,” adding, “On days when the South Korean national team played, sales of the two new menu items were 35% higher than usual.”
The new menu items were created in collaboration with the sauce brand Tabasco, reinterpreting North and Central American signature dishes—tacos and barbecue—as burgers. The “Avocado Taco” burger features a flame-grilled patty topped with avocado slices, garlic sour sauce, nacho chips, and Tabasco Picadillo sauce to capture the flavors of a Mexican taco. The “Smoke Barbecue” burger is made with smoked pulled pork, coleslaw, and Tabasco Hickory sauce, delivering the taste of American barbecue. Prices are set at 6,500 won for a single item and 8,500 won for a set.

A Shinsegae official stated, “The popup store currently operating at the No Brand Burger Seongsu Lab Branch in Seongsu-dong is also popular,” noting that about 400 people visit the popup store each day on average. They added, “Interest is so high that queues form for the happy hour event held every Friday.” Inside the popup store, which is decorated to mimic the atmosphere of a North and Central American restaurant, customers can enjoy the new menu items with four different Tabasco sauces, mixing them to their taste. Shinsegae Food has decided to extend the popup store’s operation, originally scheduled to run until the 30th, through July 12.
