Automated Office Delivery and Pothole Detection... Ministry of Land Accelerates AI Commercialization
AX Sprint Projects Selected in the Land and Transport Sector
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on June 25, 2026, that it has selected a total of 26 products and services in the fields of land and transport as the final candidates for the Rapid Commercialization Support Project for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Application Products (AX Sprint), which is being promoted jointly by various ministries.
The project was named 'Sprint' to emphasize its focus on fully developed products that can be brought to market within one to two years, in contrast to conventional research and development or technology support programs. The ministry explained that the project is significant in that it aims to increase the public’s experience with AI. During the application period in March and April, a total of 147 projects were submitted, resulting in a competition ratio of 6 to 1 on average.
By category, 14 products and services were selected in the land and transport sector, and 12 in the road and mobility sector. Sixteen projects were chosen for the Agile Track—which targets market launch within one year and will receive 60 billion won in support. Ten projects were selected for the Build-Up Track, which aims to complete development within two years and will receive 15 billion won in funding this year and next year. Selected projects include a physical AI-based spatial intelligence robot that autonomously understands apartment or office indoor environments and provides automated delivery services; an AI construction robot that performs hazardous demolition work; and a contactless, AI-based measurement device that analyzes multiple biometric signals of railway workers to proactively identify high-risk groups.

Other supported technologies include autonomous safety robots that operate within road work zones for worker safety; AI-based road condition and pothole automatic detection technology that can identify potential road hazards in advance; and real-time AI traffic situation analysis technology. Minister Kim Yoon-duk stated, "This project is a 'practical AI initiative' aimed at rapidly deploying developed technologies in the field to improve the quality of life for the public," adding, "We will make every effort to provide follow-up support, including procurement and market expansion, to ensure that results are tangible and directly experienced by the public."
