Fierce Battle for Top Spots in Prize Money and Player of the Year Points
Minsol Kim and Seogyo Rim, both born in 2006, will compete in a battle of pride.
The two athletes will vie for their first third win of the season at the Maccol-Mona Yongpyong Open on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, which will be held on June 26 at Birch Hill Country Club (par 72, 6,491 yards) in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon Province. The tournament offers a total prize money of 1 billion won.
Minsol Kim and Seogyo Rim both made their KLPGA Tour debut last year. Seogyo Rim competed in 30 tournaments last season, achieving two runner-up finishes and four top-10 placements, ultimately earning the Rookie of the Year award. Minsol Kim made a splash with two victories in her debut year, but since she joined mid-season and only played in 15 tournaments, she did not meet the Rookie of the Year eligibility requirement of participating in over 50% of the season's tournaments.
