Samkee Selected as Humanoid Frame Developer... Enters Robot Industry
Samkee, a company specializing in aluminum die casting, is set to accelerate its entry into the robot parts market.
On June 24, Samkee announced that it had been selected as a humanoid frame development partner by a global robotics company.
The goal of this project is to develop the upper body skeletal structure frame of a humanoid. Samkee will carry out prototype development and deliver the initial batch. After a specification evaluation, large-scale additional orders are expected to follow.
Samkee is currently developing the humanoid upper body skeletal frame by utilizing its existing facilities. The company is sequentially conducting processes such as mold production, casting analysis, post-processing review, and mass production feasibility evaluation. As weight reduction and durability are key competitive factors for humanoids, the importance of aluminum die casting technology, which enables the structures to be lightweight and precise, is increasing.
Samkee plans to expand its humanoid robot parts business based on the precision molding, casting, and processing technologies it has accumulated through the production of automobile engine, transmission, and electric vehicle parts.
