An employee of a partner company who wielded a weapon at two staff members at the LG Electronics Magok Work Center has been indicted and will stand trial while in detention.
The Criminal Division 2 of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, led by Chief Prosecutor Ki Noseong, announced on the 23rd that a man in his 60s, identified as Mr. A, was indicted and detained on charges of attempted murder.

View original imageAccording to the prosecution, Mr. A was sent to trial on charges of attempting to kill two people—an LG Electronics team leader and a team member—by wielding a weapon against them at an LG Electronics Science Park office in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, on the 27th of last month.
The prosecution's investigation confirmed that Mr. A committed the crime after interpreting LG Electronics' request to replace the person in charge as a notice of dismissal. Earlier, during a police investigation, Mr. A had stated, "The victim had always looked down on and ignored me," and "I committed the crime out of anger after receiving the dismissal notice."

A prosecution official stated, "This is a grave matter that posed a risk to the lives of the two victims, as they were attacked multiple times on the neck and side. We will ensure strict prosecution so that a severe sentence proportionate to the gravity of the crime is imposed, and we will do our utmost to support the victims' recovery."
