Hyundai and Kia Sell 86,444 Units in Europe Last Month, Down 2.4% Year-on-Year
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia sold 86,444 vehicles in the European market in May, down 2.4% from the same month last year.
According to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) on June 23, Hyundai sold 37,062 units and Kia sold 49,382 units in Europe last month. Compared to the same period last year, Hyundai's sales decreased by 18.8%, while Kia's sales increased by 14.9%.
The combined market share of Hyundai (3.2%) and Kia (4.3%) in Europe was 7.5%, which is a decrease of 0.5 percentage points from a year earlier.
Among Hyundai's models, the Tucson (10,994 units), Kona (6,620 units), and i20 (4,544 units) ranked first to third in sales. For major eco-friendly vehicles, including hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and electric vehicles (EVs), Hyundai sold 6,876 units of the Tucson, 5,563 units of the Kona, and 30,007 units of the Inster (Casper Electric).

Kia's top-selling models were the Sportage with 13,643 units, the Morning with 5,871 units, and the Stonic with 4,788 units. For eco-friendly vehicles, the sales rankings were EV3 with 4,591 units, EV4 with 2,886 units, and Niro with 2,698 units.
