Dongseo University Selected for Youth Leap Bootcamp... 200 Talents to Be Trained in AI Convergence and Secondary Batteries
10 Departments Participating, 18-Month Intensive Training
Dongseo University will train 200 practical young talents specializing in both AI and secondary batteries.
On June 23, Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) announced that it has been finally selected for the ‘2026 Youth Leap Talent Training Bootcamp (Advanced Talent Type)’ project, which is supervised by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT).
The Youth Leap Talent Training Bootcamp is a program in which universities and companies collaborate to provide short-term intensive education to young people who are not currently enrolled in university. The goal is to enhance practical skills required in the industrial field and support employment and social advancement.
With this selection, Dongseo University will run the ‘AI Convergence Secondary Battery Practical Training Program’ for 18 months, from September 2026 to February 2028. The program will accommodate 200 participants.
Ten departments, including the School of Smart Mobility, Department of Computer Engineering, Department of Software Engineering, Department of Applied Artificial Intelligence, Department of Information Security, Department of Architectural Engineering, and Department of ICT Convergence Engineering, will participate in this initiative.
Within the School of Smart Mobility, the majors in Secondary Battery, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Robotics, and Hydrogen Energy will participate together to establish a convergent educational system between departments.
Dongseo University plans to implement the project based on its experience operating previous advanced industry bootcamps and its educational infrastructure in secondary battery processes and equipment.
The core of this training is the convergence of AI and secondary batteries. By incorporating AI and data utilization capabilities into practical training on secondary battery processes and equipment, the program aims to nurture experts who can be immediately deployed in the industrial field.
Through this project, Dongseo University will work on building a regionally specialized secondary battery industry ecosystem, cultivating company-tailored talents, creating local settlement-oriented jobs, and embedding industry-academia-research collaboration into its academic system. In addition, the university plans to strengthen cooperation with participating companies to expand field training and employment linkage opportunities.
President Jang Jeguk of Dongseo University emphasized, "Dongseo University's accumulated capabilities in advanced industry education and its industry-academia cooperation system have been recognized," adding, "We will focus the university’s capabilities on nurturing practical specialists who will contribute to the development of local and national advanced industries."
