KOSPI Opens Lower, Fluctuates Around 9,000 Mark
KOSDAQ on a Downward Trend
The KOSPI index started lower on the 23rd, fluctuating around the 9,000 mark. The KOSDAQ is also on a downward trend.
On this day, the KOSPI opened at 9,083.54, down 0.34% from the previous session on the Korea Exchange. At around 9:21 a.m., it fell below the 9,000 threshold, dropping to 8,911.80. After fluctuating up and down, it broke above the 9,000 mark again at around 9:44 a.m.
Individual investors have purchased 2.928 trillion won worth of KOSPI stocks, while foreign investors have made net sales of 2.4019 trillion won and institutional investors have made net sales of 580.3 billion won.
By sector, more industries are declining. Construction (-5.71%), transportation equipment and parts (-3.8%), medical and precision instruments (-3.53%), electrical and electronics (-2.31%), and chemicals (-2.09%) are among those falling. Insurance (5.01%) and finance (4.14%) are among the sectors rising.

View original imageAmong the top KOSPI stocks by market capitalization, SK (up 12.3%), Samsung Life Insurance (up 8.1%), SK Square (up 6.4%), and KB Financial Group (up 3.3%) are rising. Samsung Electro-Mechanics (down 6.8%), Hyundai Motor (down 6%), Hyundai Mobis (down 5.4%), Samsung SDI (down 5.2%), and Kia (down 4.1%) are falling. SK hynix and Samsung Electronics have each dropped by 2% and 3.1%, respectively.
The KOSDAQ opened at 958.64, down 1.01% from the previous session, and at one point fell to 934.16 before stabilizing.
Individuals and institutions made net purchases of 56.4 billion won and 59.8 billion won, respectively, while foreign investors sold off 117.1 billion won.

Most of the top KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization are also declining. Padu (down 16.3%), Rainbow Robotics (down 6.9%), D&D Pharmatech (down 6%), Wonik IPS (down 5.8%), and Jusung Engineering (down 5.4%) have all fallen. LIG Chem Bio (up 7%) and ISC (up 2.6%) have risen.
