Shin Jang-sik, acting leader of the Innovation Party for National Renewal, announced on the 23rd that he, along with all candidates for the 9th Nationwide Local Elections on June 3, will pay their respects at the grave site of the late President Roh Moo-hyun.

View original imageThe Innovation Party stated in a press release that day, "Today's government, based on the sovereignty of the people, stands on the precious achievements built layer by layer by the people's aspirations and dedication that led to the Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun, and Moon Jae-in administrations," adding, "On this foundation, the Innovation Party will take the lead in succeeding and developing the values and legacy of past democratic administrations in line with the demands of the times."
The party continued, "We will firmly oppose any attempt to distort or erase President Roh's values and spirit," and added, "We will deeply remember his lesson of never blaming the people or giving up on the possibilities and purpose of politics, even in difficult times."
The party also stated, "We once again promise to the people that we will complete the task of prosecutorial reform before the upcoming Constitution Day, in pursuit of the reform of power institutions and the completion of democracy that President Roh aspired to," emphasizing, "This is both the mandate of the people for political reform and the realization of judicial justice, as well as a challenge of our times."
