Dong-A ST Signs Agreement with Yonsei Institute for Digital Health to Develop Digital Healthcare Services
Dong-A ST announced on June 23 that it recently signed a business agreement with the Yonsei Institute for Digital Health (YIDH) at the Yonsei University Digital Health Center in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, to jointly develop digital healthcare services.
The signing ceremony was attended by Jaehoon Jeong, President of Dong-A ST, Hyunchang Kim, Director of the Yonsei Institute for Digital Health, Kyungwon Kim, Deputy Director, Junseok Lim, Head of the Digital Health Office at Yonsei University Medical Center, and Yunbin Jeong, Director of the Digital Health Strategy Center, among other officials, who pledged to strengthen cooperation.
This agreement was established to contribute to public health improvement and medical service innovation through joint research and service development in the field of digital healthcare.
Based on the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate on: ▲ developing artificial intelligence (AI) models for the medical sector, ▲ conducting research utilizing AI-based data, and ▲ developing and validating digital healthcare services.
Dong-A ST possesses a wide range of digital healthcare business capabilities, including the wearable electrocardiogram remote monitoring platform "HiCardi," the AI retinal diagnosis solution "Dr. Noon," and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices. Leveraging these strengths, Dong-A ST plans to explore collaboration opportunities in various areas such as clinical validation of digital healthcare solutions, research on digital biomarkers, joint planning of national research projects, as well as talent and academic exchanges.
The Yonsei Institute for Digital Health aims to enhance human health and achieve sustainable welfare through digital health innovation, systematizing the stages of research, development, validation, and commercialization of digital healthcare services. The institute plays key roles in multidisciplinary convergence research, training digital health professionals, establishing global healthcare collaboration hubs and networks, and identifying and supporting demand for digital services in medical settings.
In particular, the institute is focusing on building research systems for digital phenotypes and digital biomarkers, validating the clinical value of medical data, establishing a healthcare ecosystem that connects personal health records (PHR), hospital information systems (HIS), medical devices, and digital health solutions, and developing AI Hospital leading models.
Hyunchang Kim, Director of the Yonsei Institute for Digital Health, stated, "The Yonsei Institute for Digital Health and Dong-A ST will jointly conduct validation and cohort studies of digital health products, and will gradually expand the scope of cooperation based on mutual trust."
Jaehoon Jeong, President of Dong-A ST, commented, "Through this agreement, we plan to combine the outstanding research capabilities of the Yonsei Institute for Digital Health with Dong-A ST's experience in digital healthcare to develop new medical services," adding, "We will create innovative digital healthcare solutions that can be used in clinical settings and contribute to improving patient-centered medical services."

Meanwhile, Dong-A ST is expanding its mid- to long-term investments and has established a Digital Healthcare Business Division to foster digital healthcare as a future growth engine. The company is building a digital healthcare portfolio covering prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management, and, based on synergies with its existing therapeutics business, is working to realize patient-centered integrated medical services that also include medical data services.
