HLB Life Science R&D Selected as Demand Company for Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Super-Gap AX Program'
HLB Life Science R&D has been selected as a demand company for a government-supported project in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) drug development.
On June 23, HLB Life Science R&D announced that it had been chosen as a demand company in the AI drug development sector for the 'Link-Up: Four-Domain AI Transformation (AX) Program,' part of the 'Super-Gap Startup Project' led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
This project is a joint research initiative that combines the new drug development know-how of traditional pharmaceutical and bio companies (demand companies) with the cutting-edge AI technology of startups (founding companies) to discover and optimize effective drug candidates.
As a demand company, HLB Life Science R&D will provide target protein information and be responsible for analyzing the efficacy and effectiveness of discovered candidates. The startup companies will analyze the structure and characteristics of the target proteins, establish drug discovery strategies, and conduct candidate compound searches and structural optimization.
Through this project, the company plans to establish a demonstration-based research system that connects AI-proposed candidate compounds to actual efficacy verification, and to secure lead compounds at a level suitable for non-clinical entry.
HLB Life Science R&D intends to review the expansion of joint development projects based on the compounds and verification data obtained from this project, and will seek technology utilization agreements and opportunities for new drug development pipeline collaborations for future commercialization.
