The Blue House has appointed attorney Jiyoung Park as Secretary to the President for Judicial System Affairs under the Office of Civil Affairs. Kim Taekeun, former Chairman of the Ulsan Metropolitan City Autonomous Police Committee, has been nominated for the previously vacant position of Secretary for Autonomous Development.
According to the Blue House and ruling party officials on June 22, Secretary Park officially began her work as Secretary for Judicial System Affairs on this day.

The position of Secretary for Judicial System Affairs was newly established after the inauguration of the Lee Jaemyung administration, and is responsible for prosecutorial reform and the overall judicial system. Secretary Park will be in charge of follow-up tasks such as supplementary investigative authority for prosecutors and prosecutorial reform.
Born in 1970 in Gwangju, Secretary Park graduated from the Department of Law at Yonsei University and began her career as a prosecutor as part of the 29th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. She has served as Director of the Victims and Human Rights Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, Head of the General Affairs Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Team Leader of the Prosecutorial Reform Task Force at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Daejeon and Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Offices, and Head of the Public Trial Division at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office.
Additionally, Secretary Park was the first female prosecutor to work in the Prosecutors' Affairs Division at the Ministry of Justice. After resigning as a prosecutor, she worked at the law firm Bae, Kim & Lee in 2023 and served as an assistant special prosecutor in the special investigation into insurrection.
Meanwhile, Kim, who has been nominated as Secretary for Autonomous Development, is known to have visited the Blue House on this day to greet key aides. The position of Secretary for Autonomous Development had been vacant since former Secretary Lee Sunho resigned to run for mayor of Ulsan.

Kim is a former civic activist who served as the first Chairman of the Ulsan Metropolitan City Autonomous Police Committee. He has also served as Secretary General of the Ulsan Citizens' Alliance and as Chairman of the Human Rights Committee at the Ulsan Metropolitan Police Agency.
