He noted, "Despite the short period, as many as 46,000 citizens have signed the petition," and added that the committee plans to visit the Ministry of Justice this Wednesday (the 24th) to submit the petition.
Chairman Joo said, "The voices of the people, steadily accumulating, will be conveyed to the courts," and asserted, "No matter how much Prosecutor Park is disciplined, it will be revoked." He continued, "If the disciplinary action against Prosecutor Park is overturned, it will mark the beginning of a lame-duck period for the Lee Jae-myung administration. President Lee should voluntarily withdraw the disciplinary attempt and promise to stand trial before the people." He further stated, "Otherwise, the approval rating dead cross will lead to the collapse of the Lee administration."
Baek Kwanghyun, a member of the special committee, said at the meeting, "The primary goal of stopping the oppression of Park Sangyong is not for Park Sangyong as an individual." He explained, "We have gathered together to defend the values he stands for, the causes he seeks to uphold, and the common sense he wishes to protect." He added, "What he wants is not politics, but the rule of law," and emphasized, "What I want is not politics, but justice."
The committee also stated that the prosecution should appeal the partial acquittal of former Gyeonggi Province Vice Governor for Peace Lee Hwa-young in his first trial. Chairman Joo remarked, "Although there was a difficult-to-accept partial acquittal for former Vice Governor Lee, only he has filed an appeal, and the prosecution has yet to announce any appeal." He added, "Unless the prosecution intends to end up in prison later, they should immediately file an appeal."

Kim Taegyu, vice chairman of the committee, told reporters after the meeting, "If there are cases where the prosecution gives up appeals based on what benefits or harms the administration, it is a clear case of dereliction of duty or abuse of authority." He stressed, "If there are areas that require legal action at this stage, we will proceed, and if the rule of law is properly upheld in the future, those responsible will certainly be held accountable."
