Nexen Tire to Supply OE Tires for BYD's New Models... Targeting China’s EV Market
Nexen Tire announced on the 22nd that it will supply original equipment (OE) tires for two BYD models, the "Seal 6" and "Dolphin Surf," both of which are flagship electric vehicles from China's leading automaker BYD. This marks the first time Nexen Tire is supplying OE tires to BYD.
The Seal 6 is a high-performance strategic model that BYD has developed for the global market. The supplied product for this model is the high-performance summer tire "N'Fera Sport," which will be fitted to export vehicles destined for regions such as Australia. N'Fera Sport is recognized for its sporty driving performance and high-speed stability, and has received excellent evaluations in prominent European tire tests, underscoring its commercial value and quality.
The "Dolphin Surf" will be equipped with the high-efficiency summer tire "N'Blue S" on vehicles bound for the European market. The Surf model has gained global attention, being named one of Time magazine's "Best Inventions of 2025." N'Blue S is designed to minimize rolling resistance and improve drainage and wet braking performance at high speeds, in response to Europe's increasingly stringent carbon emission regulations. This tire has been selected as OE for a variety of European vehicles and electric cars, demonstrating its competitiveness.
Since supplying its first overseas OE tire in 2012, Nexen Tire has established itself as a key supplier to global automakers, including Porsche (starting in 2016), Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Stellantis, and Volkswagen. In particular, Nexen Tire has supplied OE tires for a wide range of vehicles, from the Hyundai Ioniq 6 and the Nexo hydrogen-electric vehicle to the Kia EV3 through EV9, proving the competitiveness of its products for both internal combustion engine and electric vehicles.
