Gyeonggi Province to Supply 150 Units of Purchased Rental Housing
Gyeonggi Province will supply 150 units of "purchased rental housing."
Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation (GH) announced on June 22 that it will recruit tenants from June 30 to July 3 to promote housing stability for residents without homes.
Purchased rental housing refers to public rental housing where GH purchases existing homes and offers them to residents without homes at rental rates lower than market prices.
This supply consists of units that remained uncontracted after the regular recruitment period. In order to provide more residents with opportunities to move into public rental housing, the eligibility criteria for applicants have been partially relaxed.
The housing will be supplied across 20 cities and counties in the province, including Suwon, Goyang, Seongnam, Bucheon, Ansan, Siheung, Uijeongbu, Pyeongtaek, Paju, and Hwaseong, totaling 150 units.
For this recruitment, the asset criteria will not be applied and income requirements have been eased, thereby expanding the pool of eligible applicants. For the second priority group, households with a monthly average income of up to 100% of the previous year's urban worker household average are eligible, while for the third priority group, households with up to 150% of the average may apply.
In addition, to increase the utilization of the housing, the number of reserve tenants recruited for each unit has been expanded from the previous three times to four times the number of available units. The supply process has also been improved by implementing a "contract first, qualification verification later" method.
Applications for tenant recruitment can be submitted online at the GH Housing Subscription Center (https://apply.gh.or.kr) from June 30 to July 3. Further details can be found in the announcement posted on the Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation website (https://gh.or.kr, Subscription Information > Sale/Rent).
