Comeback Victory at Hana Bank Invitational
Riding Momentum with Back-to-Back Wins Following Last Week's KPGA Classic
Five Career Wins, Leading in Multiple Wins, Player of the Year Points, and Prize Money
Jang Yubin, who returned to Korea from LIV Golf, has won two weeks in a row.
On June 21, at the Victory Challenge Course (par 71, 7,231 yards) of Namchuncheon Country Club in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, Jang Yubin played the final round of the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour Hana Bank Invitational (total prize money 1.3 billion won). He limited himself to just one bogey and collected six birdies, shooting a 5-under-par 66. With a final total of 10-under-par 274, Jang Yubin edged out Kim Minjun (9-under-par 275) by one stroke to claim the title.
This marks Jang Yubin’s second consecutive victory following his win at last week’s KPGA Classic. Including his amateur victory, he now has five career wins on the KPGA Tour. He is also the first player this season to achieve two wins. He received a winner’s prize of 260 million won and rose to the top of both the money ranking (569,579,875 won) and the Player of the Year points (3,376.5 points). His average strokes per round ranks ninth (70.3667 strokes).

He made a birdie on the 2nd hole (par 4), then consecutive birdies on the 8th and 9th holes, reducing his score by three strokes on the front nine. Although he gave back a birdie on the 13th hole (par 3) with a bogey on the 14th, another birdie on the 15th hole (par 4) brought him even with Kim Minjun at the top of the leaderboard. Jang Yubin added another birdie on the 16th hole (par 4) to take the outright lead and held on to the end.
After securing his second straight win, Jang Yubin said in an interview, “Two years ago in this tournament, I made a mistake on the 15th hole and ended up as the runner-up, but this year, making a birdie there gave me the feeling that I could win.” He previously won the Gunsan CC Open as an amateur in 2023 and as a professional in 2024. He added, “Next week’s Gunsan CC Open will also be held at a course where I’ve won before, so I’d like to keep this momentum going and set a record with three consecutive wins.”
