A fire broke out at a factory within the Pyeongdong General Industrial Complex in Gwangju, prompting fire authorities to declare Level 1 response and carry out firefighting operations.
According to the Gwangsan-gu District Office and the Gwangju Fire Headquarters, a report was received at around 2:08 p.m. on June 21, 2026, that a fire had occurred at a factory located within Pyeongdong Industrial Complex, Songchon-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
The fire authorities declared a Level 1 response, deploying approximately 100 firefighters and 51 pieces of equipment to extinguish the blaze. As of now, no casualties have been reported. Workers residing in a nearby dormitory have all safely evacuated.
