Supporting K-OTT Investment and Global Expansion... Korea International Streaming Festival Concludes Successfully
Three Investment Letters of Intent Signed at the "Investment Attraction Showcase"
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on June 21 that it held the 2026 Korea International Streaming Festival at the Paradise Hotel in Busan from June 19 to 20.
This event was organized to strengthen the global competitiveness of Korea’s streaming and content industries and to present a vision for the future streaming market. A key program was the “Investment Attraction Showcase,” aimed at providing investment matching and global expansion opportunities for companies with innovative media technology and outstanding intellectual property (IP).
A total of 38 companies applied to participate in the showcase: 23 in the media technology category and 15 in the excellent planning proposal category (with 18 proposals). Through competition in each category, 10 companies from the media technology division and 9 from the excellent planning proposal division (with 10 proposals) were selected to present at the showcase.
The National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), the organizing institution, differentiated the evaluation criteria for each category to enhance the professionalism of the assessments. In the media technology division, comprehensive evaluations were conducted on overseas business capabilities, technological competitiveness, potential for global expansion, and prospects for commercialization. The excellent planning proposal division focused on originality of planning and the potential for commercialization.
The newly established Minister of Science and ICT Award was presented to Westworld Co., Ltd. (media technology division) and Takeone Company (excellent planning proposal division). Notably, leading domestic and international investors and buyers, including Warner Bros., IMM Investment, LG Uplus, and Rakuten Viki, participated in the showcase, conducting one-on-one investment consultations and business meetings. A total of three letters of intent for investment were signed on site, including a deal between the India-based venture capital firm Samsan Ventures and Takeone Company.

Choi Woo-hyuk, policy chief of information security and network policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “Building on the achievements of this festival and showcase, we will continue to provide comprehensive support so that outstanding domestic digital and platform companies can lead the global media paradigm and achieve tangible results in overseas expansion and investment attraction.”
