View original imageOn the morning of June 20, Seoul Hanyang CC held the 'New Clubhouse Completion Ceremony' on a special stage in front of the clubhouse in Goyang City, attended by key guests and members. This completion marks the fruition of a long-awaited project, undertaken to renovate aging facilities and provide the best possible service to its members.
The event, hosted by member and actor Choi Soo-jong, began in a festive atmosphere with a powerful drum performance by 'Nanta Cheongmyeong' and a resonant performance by vocal group 'I Maestri.'
Dignitaries from politics, government, and the golf industry, including Kob Jin Joo, Chairman of Seoul Country Club; Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang; Myung Jaesung, Gyeonggi-do Provincial Assembly member; and Oh Cheolgyu, Secretary General of the Korea Golf Association, were in attendance. Notably, board members from the club's sister club in Taiwan and other international guests were also present to celebrate the new beginning of Korea's oldest golf club.
In his commemorative speech, Kob Jin Joo, Chairman of Seoul Country Club, said, "It is deeply moving to declare the completion of our new clubhouse, which will open a new future for our club," adding, "I bow my head in deep respect and gratitude to each and every member who patiently endured the inconveniences of our aging facilities over the long years and helped make this great miracle possible."
Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang, delivered a congratulatory address, stating, "I hope that Seoul Hanyang CC, the symbol of Korean golf, will continue to uphold its reputation as a landmark of Goyang City."
During the event, a plaque of appreciation was presented to Jung Tae-yong, CEO of EUNMIN S&D, the construction company, and awards were also given to members and staff who contributed to the club's development. In particular, member Noh Sangbu, who achieved both a hole-in-one and an eagle in a round just before the completion, received a special award, drawing much attention from attendees.
