First World Heritage Committee in Korea... MOU Signed with UNESCO for Hosting
Director Hur Min and Secretary-General El-Enany Sign MOU
The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on June 22 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with UNESCO on June 19 (local time) at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, regarding the hosting of the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

View original imageThe event was attended by Hur Min, Director of the Cultural Heritage Administration; Kim Jihee, Ambassador of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Korea to UNESCO; Khaled El-Enany, Secretary-General of UNESCO; and Lazar Ilund Asomo, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, among others.
The MOU includes cooperation on security, health, and personal data protection to ensure the safe conduct of the meeting for delegations from 196 countries that are parties to the World Heritage Convention, as well as for domestic and international participants and experts.

Director Hur stated, "We will work closely together to make this a festival where visitors from around the world can enjoy the charm of K-Heritage and K-Culture." Secretary-General El-Enany expressed gratitude to Korea for hosting the event and pledged active cooperation.
