Police Consider Charges of Public Intimidation
A man in his 20s, who posted a comment suggesting that people raid a police armory in response to the ongoing backlash over the ballot paper shortage at the Olympic Park vote-counting center during the 9th nationwide local elections, has turned himself in to the police.
The Jungnang Police Station in Seoul announced on June 19 that it had summoned and questioned Mr. A, a man in his 20s, who wrote a threatening comment calling for weapons to be seized from the armory of the Songpa Police Station, which has jurisdiction over the Olympic Park vote-counting center protests. The case is currently under preliminary investigation before formal booking, and the police are considering whether to apply charges of public intimidation against Mr. A.
