Napoli Mafia (real name: Sungjun Kwon), the winner of Season 1 of the Netflix cooking competition show "Black & White Chef," has reportedly become the owner of a building worth approximately 3.5 billion won. Chef Kwon cited his hit product, "Night Tiramisu," as the key to becoming a building owner at such a young age.
On June 18, Chef Kwon appeared on the YouTube channel "Dex101." On the show, members of the "95s" group, Dex and Mimiminu, congratulated Chef Kwon on his recent building purchase.
Previously, in September last year, Chef Kwon purchased a small building near Yaksu Station in Sindang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, for 3.3 billion won. The building has a land area of 152 square meters and a total floor area of 303 square meters, consisting of five above-ground floors. It is a prime location situated between Yaksu Station on Seoul Subway Lines 3 and 6 and Cheonggu Station on Lines 5 and 6.
Regarding this, Chef Kwon explained, "It was 3.3 billion won. When you buy a building, there are taxes, which were about 150 million won. So you can think of the total purchase price as around 3.5 billion won."
He added, "Many people are curious about how I was able to buy a building, but it's not because I have a lot of money. I really stretched myself this time. I saved every penny to make this purchase. In fact, I don't even have a car yet."
Chef Kwon pointed to "Night Tiramisu" as the secret behind being able to afford the building. Night Tiramisu is a convenience store dessert menu item that Chef Kwon introduced during Season 1 of Black & White Chef. It is a tiramisu made using ingredients easily found at convenience stores. The dish was later launched as a product through collaborations with several convenience stores.
Chef Kwon stated, "Night Tiramisu made the biggest contribution. I received incentives from the convenience stores. Since we shared the profits, that was the biggest factor."
