KOSPI Surpasses 9,300 for the First Time Intraday, Sets New All-Time High
The KOSPI started higher on June 19, reaching an intraday all-time high.
The KOSPI opened at 9,288.89, up 222.05 points (2.48%) from the previous trading day. In early trading, it even hit 9,331.55 points.
Retail investors recorded a net purchase of 824.4 billion won. Foreign investors and institutions posted net sales of 426.4 billion won and 393.5 billion won, respectively.
By sector, distribution (6.35%), electrical & electronics (3.6%), and insurance (3.43%) rose, while electric & gas (-1.44%) and securities (-1.15%) fell.
Among the top stocks by market capitalization, Samsung Electronics (1.93%), SK hynix (5.07%), SK Square (6.74%), Samsung Electro-Mechanics (6.18%), and Hyundai Motor (0.17%) all gained. SK hynix's market capitalization surpassed 2,000 trillion won.
The KOSDAQ index opened at 1,001.40, up 0.47 points (0.05%). Retail investors recorded a net purchase of 134.8 billion won, while foreign investors and institutions posted net sales of 32.7 billion won and 105.6 billion won, respectively.
By sector, most categories were in decline, including non-metallic (-3.31%), machinery & equipment (2.80%), other manufacturing (2.35%), metal (2.19%), and textile & apparel (2.12%).
