Photo of 'Habitual Assailant' on Subway Line 4 Circulates... Mother Personally Reports Him to Police
The police have launched an investigation into a man in his 20s who is suspected of repeatedly assaulting petite women on Seoul Subway Line 4.
On June 18, the Seoul Jungbu Police Station announced that they had booked and are currently investigating a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of habitually assaulting female passengers inside the subway.
This case came to public attention on June 16, when a post titled "Wanted: Habitual Assault Perpetrator on Line 4 Bound for Buleamsan" was uploaded to a social networking service (SNS), along with a photo showing Mr. A's appearance.
The author of the post claimed, "Mr. A deliberately targeted only petite women for his crimes," adding, "I personally witnessed at least five incidents, and one female passenger was even left with bruises after being assaulted."
As the post spread, additional reports from internet users claiming to have suffered similar harm or to have witnessed the assaults began to appear on online communities.

After photos of Mr. A's face and related posts about the assaults spread rapidly online, it was reported that Mr. A's mother recognized her son in the photos and personally reported him to the police.
