Funds to Be Used for Overseas Markets and AI Expansion
Hangeul and Computer (Hancom) has completed the sale of its shares in Hancom Inspace, securing cash assets totaling 31.9 billion won. Hancom announced plans to use the funds obtained from this transaction to expand its overseas customer base.
According to a disclosure on the 18th, Hancom sold 3,094,234 shares of Hancom Inspace (representing a 26.08% stake) and acquired 31,923,210,000 won. The acquisition price per share was 3,516 won, while the disposal price per share was 10,317 won.
Through this sale, Hancom achieved an investment return of 269.87%, compared to its total investment of 8,630,890,000 won. This investment performance comes approximately six years after Hancom made Hancom Inspace an affiliate in 2020. Hancom With, another affiliate, also plans to sell its 719,442 shares (a 6.2% stake) under the same terms.
With this sale, Hancom has secured resources for its next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) business. The company intends to use the cash secured through this transaction to support overseas market expansion and the growth of its global customer base.
Specifically, Hancom aims to secure a global customer base for its Agentic Operating System (OS) by operating a global beta service, expanding overseas partnerships, and identifying local customers. The Agentic OS is a platform that connects internal organizational data, external AI models, and work systems to enable the operation of AI agents, and it is considered a core element of Hancom’s AI Transformation (AX) strategy.
Meanwhile, during the sale process, Hancom also decided to contribute shares to the employee stock ownership association to support the future growth and IPO efforts of Hancom Inspace, as well as to recognize the dedication of its employees.
