"Extracting Only the Singer's Voice"... Harman JBL Unveils Microphones with Built-in AI NPU
Extract Real-Time Vocals, Drums, and Guitar with On-Device AI
80th Anniversary Limited Edition Speaker: L100 Classic 80
Public Pop-Up Opens at Tilt Table Seongsu on June 19-20
The innovative on-device AI technology of the 'JBL Bandbox,' which amazed the music industry in March, has now been perfectly integrated into the palm-sized microphone.
On the 18th, JBL, the flagship brand of Harman, Samsung Electronics' audio subsidiary, held a new product launch and experience event at Tilt Table in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. From ultra-premium limited edition speakers that encapsulate 80 years of audio heritage to microphones equipped with cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology, participants were able to experience JBL's new sound identity that bridges the past and the future.

The core of these products lies in the on-device AI neural processing unit (NPU) chip built into the microphone. Just like the JBL Bandbox, which created a buzz when it was released in March, these devices perform real-time audio source separation independently without connecting to an external cloud. Even in K-pop idol group songs where multiple singers' voices overlap, the AI can instantly recognize and separate the vocal parts of all tracks with precision.
Beyond simply removing vocals for karaoke use, these microphones serve as professional content creation tools for creators—enabling users to extract only a guitar solo from a particular band track or isolate just the drum beat for use as a beatbox background. When combined with a powerful JBL Partybox speaker in a living room or party room, the space is instantly transformed into a concert stage.
In another session, a classic large speaker that dominated the space caught everyone's attention. It was a listening session for the 'JBL L100 Classic 80,' a luxury loudspeaker produced in a strictly limited edition of only 800 sets worldwide to commemorate JBL's 80-year history.
Accompanied by in-depth commentary from lifestyle expert Director Jung Woosung, the moment Lee Sora's "Barami Bunda" played, the Seongsu-dong venue instantly transformed into a top-tier recording studio. The singer's breath and trembling vocals felt vividly close, while the following old pop and rock tracks delivered deep, solid bass that resonated through the floor and the body. On the back of the product is a commemorative plaque engraved with the signature of Chief System Engineer Chris Hagen and a unique serial number, sure to inspire audio enthusiasts' desire to own one.

The philosophy is to honestly connect the voices of artists, creators, and consumers through raw, unprocessed, concert-level sound. Rather than forcing people to break conventions, the message is a paradigm shift—focusing on the special everyday moments when music and sound naturally bring people together.
