Countermeasure Meeting with Related Agencies
Discussion on Inspecting High-Risk Areas and Strengthening Safety Management Plans
Namhae County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on June 18 that it held the "Summer Water Safety Agencies Countermeasure Meeting" in the Deputy County Mayor's Office to prevent water safety accidents during the summer and strengthen the cooperation system among related organizations.
The meeting was presided over by the Deputy County Mayor and attended by representatives from seven departments, including the Disaster Safety Division and the Marine Development Division, as well as two related organizations: Sacheon Maritime Police Station and the Namhae Branch of Korea Rural Community Corporation. Participants reviewed countermeasures for preventing water safety accidents in the summer, the roles of each agency, and the cooperation system.

View original imageKey agenda items discussed at the meeting included inspecting risk factors in managed areas, deploying additional safety personnel and managing their work shifts, and conducting safety campaigns. In addition, plans were shared to strengthen safety management and preventive activities, particularly in areas where water recreation and water leisure activities are expected to increase during the rainy season and peak summer months (June to August).
Participants also checked the management status of life-saving equipment and the emergency response system, agreeing to maintain a cooperative system among related agencies to ensure a prompt response in the event of an accident.
Based on the outcomes of the meeting, Namhae County plans to analyze past water safety accident cases, supplement preventive measures tailored to local conditions, and continuously implement necessary actions for water safety management during the summer.
Seokwon Jeong, Deputy County Mayor of Namhae County, requested that all related agencies make every effort to prevent water safety accidents during the summer through inter-agency cooperation and field-oriented safety management.
