Gangdong District to Operate Policy Proposal Channel Ahead of 9th Term Administration
Collecting Ideas on All Aspects of District Administration, Including Transportation, Education, and Reconstruction
On June 18, Gangdong District in Seoul (Mayor Suhee Lee) announced that it will operate a policy proposal channel titled "9th Term, Listening to Residents" ahead of the launch of the 9th popularly elected administration.
This channel has been established to collect residents' opinions on the district’s future vision and key livelihood issues, as Gangdong District has grown into a major city with a population of 500,000. The feedback will be reflected in the administration of the 9th term district government.
The channel will be open for 12 days from June 22 to July 3, 2026. Any resident interested in district affairs can freely submit policy ideas regarding all aspects of district administration—such as transportation, education, and reconstruction/redevelopment—through the dedicated bulletin board on the Gangdong District Office website.
The submitted proposals will be reviewed by relevant departments and incorporated into the 9th term’s pledges and major policy projects. The results of the review will be individually notified to the proposers between July 15 and July 17. For simple inconveniences or general civil complaints, residents are advised to use the existing communication channels such as "Wish to Gangdong District," the "People’s Petition Portal," or the "Response Center."
