Samyang Biopharm to Attend "BIO USA 2026" with Focus on Expanding Global Partnerships
Samyang Biopharm announced on June 18 that it will participate in the "BIO International Convention (BIO USA) 2026," which will be held in San Diego, USA, from June 22 to 25 (local time), seeking opportunities to expand global partnerships.
Organized by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), BIO USA is the world's largest bio event where stakeholders from the global pharmaceutical and biotech industries gather to discuss technology transfer, joint development, investment, and strategic alliances. This year, approximately 20,000 industry professionals are expected to attend.
Marking its fifth consecutive year of attendance, Samyang Biopharm plans to engage in discussions on platform technology transfer and strategic partnerships with more than 40 global pharmaceutical and biotech companies, leveraging the technological strength of its next-generation drug delivery platform, SENS (Selectivity Enabling Nano Shell).
Samyang Biopharm is expanding its research and development scope centered on the SENS platform to include next-generation nucleic acid therapeutics and new gene therapy modalities. The company is also focusing on securing future growth pipelines in the fields of in-vivo CAR-T (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell), central nervous system (CNS)-targeted therapeutics, and new "RNA Cargo" areas.
SENS selectively delivers nucleic acid-based therapeutics such as siRNA (small interfering RNA) and mRNA (messenger RNA), as well as gene-editing drugs, to specific cells within various tissues such as the liver, lungs, spleen, brain, and spinal cord. By efficiently delivering drugs to the desired tissues, SENS induces the intended effects and can minimize off-target side effects caused by unintended drug actions in other tissues.
In addition, unlike lipid nanoparticles, which are widely known as carriers for COVID-19 vaccines, SENS is designed based on biodegradable polymers, offering superior efficacy and safety and enabling repeated dosing. Currently, Samyang Biopharm is actively collaborating with domestic and international companies, having demonstrated the efficacy, safety, stability, and repeat dosing potential of SENS in animal studies, including large animal models.
