Choi Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met with Lee Seok-yeon, Chairman of the National Integration Committee, to discuss strategies for social integration and growth. Both agreed on the need to improve unnecessary regulations and practices to foster free innovation by businesses.
On June 17, Chairman Choi and Chairman Lee discussed ways to cooperate in creating a sustainable society through a virtuous cycle of growth and integration at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul.
Attendees from the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry included Chairman Choi and Lee Hyung-hee, Vice Chairman of the Seoul Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chairman of SK Inc., while the National Integration Committee was represented by Chairman Lee and Vice Chairman Jeon Ji-myeong. They exchanged views on restoring growth momentum and expanding the social roles of businesses.
Chairman Choi stated, "In order to bridge differences and move toward integration, it is essential for the economy to be strong, as only then do we have the leeway for dialogue and compromise. Enhancing growth momentum is the path to laying the foundation for integration." He added, "Establishing support systems appropriate to each stage of growth so that businesses can innovate creatively and freely will lead to continuous growth for the Korean economy."
