Kakao announced on the 17th that it will hold the "Agentic Player 10" contest to revitalize the Agentic artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem and discover creative AI services.

View original imageThis event is a follow-up to the "MCP Player 10" development contest that was held in December last year. Participants in this competition can register their self-developed MCP servers on PlayMCP, and those who advance to the finals can showcase their services directly to KakaoTalk users through KakaoTools. KakaoTools is an AI agent service that integrates with a variety of internal and external Kakao services, and can be accessed within KakaoTalk via "ChatGPT for Kakao."
Anyone interested in developing AI services—including individual developers, startups, and university students—can participate in the contest. Applications are open until the 14th, and participants can register their developed services on PlayMCP.
The 20 services that pass the preliminary screening will be released through KakaoTools within KakaoTalk, and the finals, which will be conducted through user voting, will be held from August 31 to September 28. The final 10 teams, selected through a combination of user votes and expert evaluation, will be announced at the awards ceremony scheduled for October 23 at the Kakao AI Campus.
This year's event is further supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT, expanding both the scale of the contest and the benefits for participants. A total of 27 million won in prize money will be awarded to the 10 final teams. The grand prize winner will receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award and 10 million won, while two gold award teams and seven silver award teams will receive 5 million won and 1 million won each, respectively.
