Dedicated equipment such as special containers without ceilings or walls is required, and loading and unloading typically demand separate cranes, making advanced transportation capabilities essential. For these reasons, specialized cargo is classified as high value-added cargo, as it commands higher freight rates than general cargo.
Since 2007, HMM has established a dedicated specialized cargo division, accumulating extensive transportation expertise. The company is recognized for its reliable and efficient transportation utilizing a global container network, and it can handle ultra-large and ultra-heavy cargo using a variety of bulk carriers, including dry bulk and multipurpose vessels, further strengthening its specialized cargo capabilities.
