In particular, the seminar will focus on three main sessions: the impact of Middle East-driven geopolitical risks on international contracts and response strategies; contractual liability issues in the event of disruptions to maritime transport such as the closure or restricted passage of the Strait of Hormuz; and practical considerations for companies regarding Middle East risks, payment settlements, and dispute resolution.
In addition, on June 18, the Ministry of Justice will co-host the "Legal Support Seminar for Korean Companies Entering Ukraine" with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine. This seminar will provide information to companies that have entered Ukraine or are seeking to participate in future reconstruction projects, covering topics such as legal risks during wartime, asset protection and compensation for war damages, and opportunities to participate in reconstruction projects.
Topics have been selected to be of practical help to companies, including strategies for managing legal and regulatory risks during wartime, compensation and legal responses for war-damaged assets, and a practical roadmap for investing in Ukraine. In conjunction with the seminar, one-on-one consultation sessions will be held, in which legal experts will provide tailored legal advice to participating companies.
This seminar will be conducted in a hybrid format, connecting locations in Korea, Ukraine, and Poland online, taking into account the current local situation in Ukraine. The Ministry of Justice in Korea will host the seminar and consultation sessions with domestic experts, while the Embassy in Ukraine will organize events with local experts and companies in Ukraine and Poland.
