View original imageGenians (CEO Lee Dongbum) has demonstrated its global market competitiveness by obtaining final certification in the "2026 EDR Detection Verification Test" conducted by AV-Comparatives, a leading global security product evaluation organization.
This certification officially acknowledges that Genians' EDR solution possesses a high level of detection visibility and AI-based threat analysis capabilities in the latest cyber threat environment. In particular, it is evaluated as providing a practical security solution for the era of autonomous AI hacking, based on an integrated endpoint security strategy that combines antivirus and anti-ransomware functions.
The AV-Comparatives certification is an international evaluation process in which major global security companies participate to verify the performance of their products. The "2026 EDR Detection Verification Test" specifically assessed how accurately and thoroughly security solutions could detect and track attacks, using 14 stages of virtual hacking scenarios that reflect real-world, up-to-date attack methods.
To obtain certification, solutions must maintain continuous detection visibility for at least two-thirds of all attack stages. Additionally, the ability to connect individual security events occurring in different environments and analyze them as a single attack flow—referred to as "Contextualization"—was also evaluated.
The evaluation also included the possibility of false positives, where legitimate system management activities might be misidentified as threats. To receive final certification, solutions needed to generate three or fewer unnecessary alerts in a total of five "Signal-to-Noise" scenarios.
Genians was recognized in this evaluation for its outstanding detection visibility and behavior-based correlation analysis capabilities throughout the entire process of the latest advanced persistent threat (APT) scenarios. The company was highly praised for faithfully implementing the core functions of EDR—namely, detecting advanced attacks that have already infiltrated internal systems and tracking attack paths—going beyond simply blocking pre-registered threats.
Only nine solutions worldwide obtained final certification in this test, and Genians was the only domestic company to receive certification.
Genians’ AI-based security features also drew attention during this evaluation. Genians EDR utilizes a machine learning detection engine to analyze threat types, classification information, similarity scores, and more, presenting the results in an intuitive graphical dashboard format.
The company is not using AI as a mere individual feature or temporary technology trend, but rather applying it to reduce the complexity of security operations and improve response efficiency. Genians aims to build a platform that integrates security information scattered across various domains—users, devices, networks, applications, and data—and enables a contextual understanding of security situations.
In particular, AI is expected to serve as a core technology for connecting and analyzing vast amounts of security data, allowing for more accurate assessment of threat situations.
Lee Minsang, Executive Vice President of Genians Security Solution Research Institute, said, "In the era of intelligent autonomous AI hacking, where endpoints can be compromised at any time due to self-generated real-time attack scenarios, we must establish a defense system focused on post-compromise detection and rapid visibility."
He added, "With the global certification of the 'Genians Insights E 3.0' platform, which integrates EDR, antivirus (AV), anti-ransomware (AR), and device control functions, and our differentiated AI technology, we will accelerate our expansion in the global endpoint security market."
