Israel-Hezbollah Clashes Continue... Iran Warns of "Ceasefire Agreement Violation"
Israel Continues Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon
Iran Warns: "Will Consider as Violation of MOU"
Despite the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, armed clashes continue between Israel and Hezbollah, the pro-Iranian militant group in Lebanon, prompting strong opposition from Iran. Iran has warned that Israel is violating the ceasefire agreement and demanded a complete withdrawal from the occupied territories in Lebanon.
According to the Times of Israel (TOI) on June 16 (local time), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced in a statement that “the military intercepted rockets launched by Hezbollah targeting our troops stationed in southern Lebanon and destroyed the rocket launchers using the air force.” The statement also added, “Additionally, we identified and struck a suspicious vehicle in southern Lebanon.”
The Lebanese side reported casualties as a result of Israel’s offensive. Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli drones struck three vehicles, resulting in at least four deaths and several injuries.
The Iranian side warned that Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon constitute a violation of the ceasefire agreement with the United States and called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated at a briefing, “If Israel carries out further attacks on Lebanon, Iran will consider this a violation of the ceasefire memorandum of understanding (MOU),” adding, “If Israeli troops do not withdraw from the territories occupied during this war, the war will not be truly over.”

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command, which oversees the unified command of Iranian forces, also strongly condemned Israel in a statement, saying, “In the two days since the U.S. President declared a ceasefire, the Zionist regime’s (Israel’s) terrorist army has violated the truce as many as 84 times in southern Lebanon, continuing its crimes and killing against the oppressed people of Lebanon.” The statement further warned, “If the child-killing army of the Zionist regime does not cease its atrocities in southern Lebanon, it must be prepared for a harsh response from the powerful military of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
