Hanmi Semiconductor Chairman Dongshin Kwak Acquires 8 Billion Won in Company Shares, Ownership Stake Rises to 33.6%

Dongshin Kwak, Chairman of Hanmi Semiconductor, announced on the 16th that he had acquired company shares worth 8 billion won with his personal funds. The acquisition price was 338,917 won per share, totaling 8 billion won.
With this purchase, Chairman Kwak has acquired a total of 64.5 billion won (716,055 shares) in company stock since 2023, raising his ownership stake in Hanmi Semiconductor to 33.59%. This acquisition follows the share buyback plan announced on May 19.
The company explained that this share purchase demonstrates Hanmi Semiconductor’s confidence in its technology and future growth in the global high bandwidth memory (HBM) equipment market.
On June 12, Hanmi Semiconductor also decided to invest 50 billion won in SpaceX. This investment is a strategic move in response to SpaceX’s explosive growth and Elon Musk’s “Terafab” project, which aims to build a massive semiconductor manufacturing facility.

A Hanmi Semiconductor official stated, “Chairman Dongshin Kwak’s additional purchase of company stock reflects his firm commitment to responsible management and confidence in Hanmi Semiconductor’s growth in line with our Terafab supply goals,” adding, “We will further strengthen our global leadership in the AI semiconductor and advanced packaging markets.”
