A fire broke out in a rooftop temporary structure at Yeongcheon Market in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, and was fully extinguished after about 40 minutes.
According to the Seodaemun Fire Station, on June 16 at around 2:34 p.m., a fire occurred in a temporary building installed on the roof of Yeongcheon Market in Seodaemun-gu, producing smoke. The fire department deployed equipment and personnel to extinguish the fire and completely put it out by 3:12 p.m. So far, no casualties have been reported.
Seodaemun-gu sent out an emergency disaster text message stating, "Smoke is occurring due to a fire in the temporary structure on the roof of Yeongcheon Market," and advised, "Residents nearby should move away from the site of the incident and take precautions against smoke entering their homes."
