Gyeonggi Fire Department Launches "Coffee Therapy" Mental Health Program at 11 Northern Fire Stations
Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters is operating the mobile mental health program "Coffee Therapy" for 11 fire stations in the northern region throughout June.
This program was created to improve access for northern region firefighters to the Gyeonggi 119 Northern Mental Health Center, following the opening and expansion of the center's services, and to promote a culture of daily mental health care.
"Coffee Therapy" involves a mobile coffee truck visiting each fire station to provide beverages such as coffee and herbal tea. During the visit, firefighters can write messages of encouragement to colleagues, conduct self-checks for stress, and receive information on how to apply for counseling at the center. Mental health professionals from the Gyeonggi 119 Northern Mental Health Center are present on-site to help assess firefighters' mental health and, if necessary, connect them with professional counseling services.
