Hwaseong City Achieves Triple Grand Prize Victory at Gyeonggi Province Smart Management Innovation Competition for Farmers

The Hwaseong Agricultural Technology Center announced on June 16 that farmers from Hwaseong City achieved outstanding results, including winning top prizes in three categories, at the "2026 Gyeonggi Province Smart Management Innovation Competition for Farmers" held at the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services on June 10. This demonstrated the digital and smart management innovation capabilities of Hwaseong’s agricultural sector.
This competition was organized to discover and spread best practices in smart management in response to changes in the digital distribution environment, and to strengthen farmers’ online sales channels and management innovation capabilities.
The competition was held across several categories, including Smart Management, Smart Content, Smart Marketing, and City & County Research Association Activities. From Hwaseong City, farmer Hwang Yonghun received the Excellence Award in the Smart Management category, while farmer Kim Myungsik won the Grand Prize in the General Smart Content 1 category, and farmer Cha Giseol won the Grand Prize in the Silver Smart Content 2 category. In addition, the Hwaseong City Cyber Farmers’ Research Association received the Grand Prize in the City & County Research Association Activities category, in recognition of both their on-site exhibition evaluation and their achievements over the past year.
In particular, Hwaseong farmers were highly praised for their active response to the changing environment of agricultural product consumption and distribution—not just producing agricultural products, but also creating AI-based video content, conducting online promotions, and pioneering digital sales channels.

Song Seongho, Director of the Hwaseong Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "It is very meaningful that Hwaseong’s farmers have achieved such outstanding results by keeping pace with changes in the digital environment, such as producing AI short-form content and engaging in online marketing." He added, "We will continue to expand customized education and support to help farmers effectively utilize smart technologies in farm management and open up new sales channels."
