[Click eStock] "SiseanAI Poised for Growth in Smart APC and Robotics Automation... Expected to Turn Profitable This Year"
Independent research firm Aris has forecasted that SiseanAI is likely to see improved performance, driven by the expansion of its AI solution sales and the full-scale launch of its robotics business.
In a report published on the 16th, Aris analyzed that SiseanAI is securing growth engines in the smart Agricultural Produce Processing Center (APC) and robotics automation markets based on its competitive edge in vision AI technologies.
Jaemo Lee, a researcher at Aris, commented, "SiseanAI has supplied solutions to various sectors—including airports, large corporations, and government offices—based on its vision AI technologies such as facial recognition, thereby establishing some of the top application cases in Korea."
He especially predicted that the expansion of the robotics business through its subsidiary Uon Robotics would become a core pillar of future growth. SiseanAI and Uon Robotics are working with Hanwha Robotics to promote the smart transformation and automation of the Nonghyup agricultural distribution centers.
Aris explained, "By combining vision AI technology, robot control technology, collaborative robots, and autonomous mobile robots (AMR), they are building an integrated solution that automates the entire process from sorting to stacking and transporting agricultural products."
The company also gave a positive outlook on the growth potential of the smart APC market. Currently, about 560 APCs are operating nationwide, and it was analyzed that with the aging rural population and worsening labor shortages, the need to introduce automated facilities is growing.
The government is also pushing policies to convert 100 APCs to smart APCs by 2027, so market expansion is expected. Aris estimated that the scale of automation facility implementation per APC is around 3 billion won, and even reflecting only the government’s target quantity, a market worth approximately 300 billion won could be formed.
Furthermore, if the business scope expands to include all APCs nationwide, the total market size could reach as much as 1.5 trillion won.
Uon Robotics' technological differentiation was also highlighted in terms of competitive advantage. Researcher Lee explained, "Uon Robotics has developed technology that enables precise recognition and picking of agricultural products with irregular shapes and sizes, based on its unstructured object handling capabilities."
This is seen as a competitive edge, as it can be applied not only to standardized products but also to items with significant shape variation, such as agricultural produce, unlike conventional automation systems.
Aris expects SiseanAI to improve profitability by moving away from a research and development-centric business structure toward expanding its AI solution supply and boosting robotics business revenue.
Researcher Jaemo Lee said, "SiseanAI may achieve its first operating profit since its establishment starting in the third quarter of this year," adding, "Expansion of AI-based solution businesses and the smart APC and robotics automation businesses are expected to drive performance improvement."
