Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance announced on the 16th that it has launched a direct-exclusive "Running Insurance" plan that covers runner injury risks in stages and allows customers to freely choose plans based on their individual exercise styles.
The key feature of this product is its staged, focused coverage for fracture accidents. By subscribing to a special rider, all treatment steps related to fractures are covered under a single policy. This includes coverage for CT and MRI scan costs, diagnostic fees, surgery expenses, and rehabilitation treatment costs.
Notably, this product includes a special rider for "specified frequent knee disorders (runner's knee) surgery expenses," a common knee injury caused by excessive running.
It also provides broad protection against various daily injury risks. Customers can select special riders for emergency room treatment costs due to injuries, ventilator treatment expenses, and cast treatment costs, among others.
Customers can flexibly choose the coverage period according to their running lifestyle. There is a "1-day plan" for those who want protection only on marathon race days, a "monthly plan" (1, 2, 3, 6, or 9 months) suitable for focused coverage during running crew activities or other specific periods, and an "annual plan" for runners active year-round. The 1-day plan allows same-day enrollment on the day of the race.
