Jongno District Recruiting Participants for '2026 Yun Dong-ju Literary Festival' Open Call Programs

Jongno District in Seoul (District Mayor: Jeong Moon-heon) is recruiting participants for the '2026 Yun Dong-ju Literary Festival' open call programs.
This year's open call is being held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Hangul Day, with the aim of reinterpreting the literary world of poet Yun Dong-ju from the perspective of citizens. It consists of three categories: a poetry and art contest, a creative music festival, and a media contest.
The 13th National Yun Dong-ju Poetry and Art Contest for Elementary and Middle School Students is open to students nationwide in grades 3 to 6 of elementary school and to middle school students. Participants may write and illustrate their own poetry and art pieces based on Yun Dong-ju's poems and submit the original works either in person at the Yun Dong-ju Literature Hall or by mail between July 14 and August 21, 5:00 p.m.
The 12th National Yun Dong-ju Creative Music Festival is calling for original compositions that use Yun Dong-ju's poems as lyrics. This year, the festival will be divided into the ‘full text category,’ which sets the entire poem to music, and the ‘excerpt category,’ which sets selected lines to music. Both individuals and groups may participate. Submissions will be accepted via email from June 16 until midnight on August 7.
The 2nd National Yun Dong-ju Media Contest has no restrictions on format, accepting vlogs, documentaries, short-form videos, music videos, dance, theater, and more. Participants should produce a video between 30 seconds and 3 minutes in length and submit it via email from June 16 until midnight on August 7.
Winning entries will be released in conjunction with the official events of the literary festival through exhibitions, screenings, and performances. Awarded teams from the creative music festival will be given opportunities to produce music tracks and perform, while winners of the media contest will be given opportunities for film screenings.
