A woman in her 60s will be investigated by the police after causing a fire by discarding a cigarette butt outside a foreign diplomatic mission in South Korea.
On June 15, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that it plans to book and investigate Ms. A, a woman in her 60s, on charges of accidental arson.

View original imageAccording to the police, at around 5:00 p.m. on the same day, Ms. A is suspected of starting the fire by throwing a cigarette butt into a pile of trash near the outer wall of the Embassy of Rwanda in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
The police responded to a report of arson at the embassy and identified Ms. A as the suspect. She is reported to be an employee working at a nearby restaurant.
