View original imageAccording to the Ministry of Justice's Incheon Airport Immigration Office and other authorities on June 15, it was confirmed that on the night of June 4, a man—believed to be a Chinese tourist—defecated in the washroom of the female immigration officers' break room on the second floor of the arrivals hall at Incheon Airport Terminal 1. The incident was discovered the following day, June 5.
The Incheon Airport Immigration Office analyzed the CCTV installed in the arrivals hall and determined that a male Chinese tourist entering through Incheon Airport was responsible for the act.
The female immigration officers' break room on the second floor of the arrivals hall at Incheon Airport is a secure area, inaccessible to both the general public and arriving passengers.
After the incident, the immigration authorities reportedly installed a no-entry sign and a barricade in front of the women's break room and issued a notice about the incident within the organization.
Some immigration staff reportedly complained that the door lock to the women's break room was not functioning properly at the time of the incident, and that the Incheon Airport Immigration Office has not taken active measures such as filing a police report.
