Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, has drawn attention after revealing himself eating street food in Wuhan, China.
On June 15, Chinese IT media outlet Kuaikeji reported, "After testing the Xiaomi YU7, Lei Jun tried reganmian (hot dry noodles, a noodle dish mixed with sesame sauce and other ingredients, served without broth) on the street." The outlet added that his humble appearance has been attracting attention on social media.

He was enjoying reganmian, fried bread, and mung bean porridge—dishes known as popular breakfast choices among Wuhan residents. In response to comments from users reminiscing about their own student days in Wuhan, Lei Jun replied, "It reminds me of my school days as well. Time passes, but the taste remains the same." When asked about the flavor of the food, he simply said, "It was delicious."
The Wuhan Culture and Tourism Bureau also released photos of Lei Jun enjoying Wuhan street food, accompanied by captions such as "Let's have breakfast with Lei Jun" and "Put down your chopsticks and take a group photo." His appearance caused the street to overflow with fans. Lei Jun signed T-shirts, hats, and car models for his supporters. One fan even brought a 13-year-old Xiaomi phone to receive his autograph.

In 2023, he donated 240 billion won to his alma mater, Wuhan University. At the time, Lei Jun said, "The donation will be invested in basic academic research in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and the humanities, as well as in scientific and technological innovation in the field of computer science and the cultivation of outstanding talent." He also recalled, "About 30 years ago, when I was a student at Wuhan University, I received a scholarship of 2,000 yuan (approximately 360,000 won). Back then, I promised myself that I would repay that amount by 100 or even 10,000 times."
