Sphere Secures Consecutive Large-Scale Orders with Complete Supply Chain... Poised to Benefit from Global Space Industry Growth
Global aerospace supply chain integration solutions company Sphere Corporation (hereinafter "Sphere") is proving its competitiveness in response to the growth momentum of the global space industry by securing a series of large-scale supply contracts.
Sphere announced that, following the public disclosure of a supply contract worth about 20 billion won on June 10, it had signed an additional supply contract worth approximately 22.3 billion won on June 15. The company explained that these consecutive orders are significant, as its self-developed supply chain system—spanning from raw materials to production—is now translating into actual business expansion.
Since signing a 10-year long-term supply contract with a U.S. aerospace launch vehicle company last year, Sphere has focused on securing stable supply capabilities. In addition to smooth contract execution, the company has pursued a strategy to simultaneously strengthen its raw material procurement and production capacity to meet the anticipated increase in space industry demand.
The company has secured a stake in a nickel smelter in Indonesia, laying the foundation for core raw material supply, and has signed long-term supply contracts with domestic mill vendors to secure production capacity. Through these efforts, Sphere has established a complete supply chain model that connects raw materials procurement to manufacturing.
This supply chain competitiveness is serving as a foundation not only for fulfilling existing long-term contracts, but also for responding to additional demand. In fact, since signing the long-term supply agreement, Sphere has continued to secure additional project orders that go beyond the scope of the original contract, thereby proving its supply capacity.
The recently secured additional orders also stem from increased demand due to the client’s business expansion and production scale-up, which is interpreted as recognition of Sphere as a reliable supply partner. Analysts believe that the company’s preemptively secured supply chain and production system are leading to a series of large-scale contracts.
The global space industry has recently been growing rapidly, led by private companies. As the operation of launch vehicles expands, satellite network construction accelerates, and next-generation space exploration projects become more active, demand for highly reliable materials and components is also rising.
Amid these market changes, Sphere is expanding its role as a key supplier of strategic materials for the space industry. In particular, the company is evaluated as having the competitiveness to respond to clients’ large-scale production expansion and facility extension demands, based on its integrated supply chain that connects raw material procurement to production.
Industry experts predict that the space industry will continue to grow over the long term as a key sector, and that related supply chain companies will see their growth opportunities expand. Companies that have secured both stable raw material procurement capabilities and a solid production base are expected to benefit more in the process of market growth.
A Sphere representative stated, "By securing a stake in an Indonesian nickel smelter and signing long-term supply contracts with domestic mill vendors, we have established a stable supply chain and production system. Based on this, we are now able to stably fulfill large-scale orders, and additional orders are continuously being placed."
He continued, "We are also continuously working to secure additional mill vendors in preparation for the possibility of new project expansion. In line with the growth of the global space industry, we will further expand our supply capabilities and build a foundation for long-term growth."
