Beurer Launches Proven "BiteX BR60" in Korea... Full-Scale Rollout at Costco Korea
With the upcoming summer vacation season, German healthcare brand Beurer has officially launched its portable device, the "BiteX BR60," which soothes itching caused by mosquito bites, on the Korean Costco online mall to alleviate consumer discomfort from insect bites during outdoor activities.
The BiteX is a portable device developed based on Beurer's accumulated healthcare technology in Germany. It relieves itching from mosquito bites using heat instead of chemical ingredients. Its compact size and easy usability make it suitable for various environments such as travel, camping, and outdoor activities. Currently, it is available in Costco stores in multiple countries abroad.
In fact, it is sold at more than 130 Costco stores overseas, including in the United Kingdom, and last year, despite the relatively short summer season, it recorded strong sales and received an enthusiastic response from local consumers. This successful reaction in overseas markets is cited as a reason for its entry into the Korean market.
The recent launch on the Korean Costco online mall is particularly meaningful, as it comes at a time when demand for outdoor activities, camping, and travel is rapidly increasing ahead of the peak summer season. In particular, with the product now available online, consumers can conveniently purchase the device without visiting a physical store, further enhancing accessibility.
Due to climate change, the active period for mosquitoes is becoming longer, and outdoor leisure activities such as camping and car camping are becoming more popular, which is expected to further expand the market for portable devices related to insect bites. As safe and convenient healthcare appliances for post-bite treatment are becoming essential during summer—beyond just simple prevention and repellent—BiteX's entry into Costco is expected to accelerate generational change in the Korean mosquito-related product market.
A representative from Beurer Korea stated, "With the BiteX BR60 now available on the Korean Costco online mall, we are able to further expand our consumer reach. We expect strong interest from consumers ahead of the upcoming summer outdoor and travel season. In addition to launching sales on the Costco online mall, we are also preparing to enter offline Costco stores in Korea at the end of June. Through the expansion of both online and offline sales channels, we anticipate significant growth in the Korean market."
