Pearl Abyss Donates Digital Cultural Heritage Fund to Korea National University of Cultural Heritage
Expanded Support After 2023 MOU
Academy, Symposiums, and Joint Events to Be Operated
Korea National University of Cultural Heritage announced on June 15 that it held a donation ceremony for the development fund in the digital cultural heritage field with Pearl Abyss at Yuhyeondang in Buyeo, Chungnam, on June 11.

View original imagePearl Abyss is a game company that has introduced elements of national heritage and traditional culture to a global audience through "Black Desert: Land of the Morning Light." Since signing a business agreement with Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in 2023, the company has continued to provide support for the development fund.
Based on the donated fund, Korea National University of Cultural Heritage established the National Heritage Content Development Institute in 2024. The university has achieved a variety of domestic and international results, including running the Digital Cultural Heritage Academy and winning a contract for the integrated digital management of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage. This year, the university also hosted the "Digital Heritage Contest" to enhance students' capabilities.
The additional donation will be used to expand operations of the Digital Cultural Heritage Academy (held twice a year), international academic symposiums, and joint events with other universities.
